畫廊：欣賞令人驚嘆的罌粟花紀念第一次世界大戰一百週年

大量人群湧向倫敦，最後一睹令人驚嘆的罌粟花園的風采，該花園是為了紀念第一次世界大戰中英國傷亡者而建造的。

週末，數千人擠滿了倫敦塔周圍的街道，在陣亡將士紀念日之前觀看展覽。

展覽在塔的護城河中安裝了一朵陶瓷罌粟花，紀念第一次世界大戰中喪生的 888,246 名英國和殖民地生命。

第一株罌粟於 8 月種植，最後一株罌粟將於 11 月 11 日種植。

該裝置題為《血色大地和紅色海洋》，由陶瓷藝術家保羅康明斯 (Paul Cummins) 創作。

倫敦塔警員丹納特勳爵將軍表示：「在這個重要的周年紀念日，我們希望倫敦塔的紀念活動能夠向第一次世界大戰期間喪生的人們致敬，同時鼓勵其他人反思我們的過去。

「第一次世界大戰是我們歷史上的關鍵時刻，奪走了全球超過 1,600 萬人的生命；其後果塑造了我們的現代社會。

“我們希望英國、歐洲和世界其他地方的人們能夠加入我們，成為這一獨特時刻的一部分，我們認為這一時刻反映了這個百年紀念的重要性。”
